Personal data

Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us. MedTech Engine and our carefully selected third-party partners will only use your personal details to ensure that we understand your needs and deliver an excellent service to you.

MedTech Engine may collect the following information when you register and use the MedTech Engine website:

  • Your name, area of expertise, job title, company name, your company name, area of business, size and focus as well as your username and password.
  • Contact information including your company and/or personal address, telephone number and email address.
  • Details of visits to the MedTech Engine website including, but not limited to, how you use the site, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, and the resources that you access.

MedTech Engine may also collect information about your computer for system administration, including (where available) your IP address, operating system and browser type. This is statistical data about your browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual details.

MedTech Engine uses tracking software to monitor site traffic patterns and usage to help us develop the MedTech Engine website design and layout to better meet users’ needs. This software does not enable us to capture any personally identifying information.

Data protection

MedTech Engine is committed to ensuring that your information is secure. To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, MedTech Engine has put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information MedTech Engine collects online. However, the internet is not a totally secure medium and MedTech Engine cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to the MedTech Engine website – any transmission is at your own risk.

You are also responsible for keeping your password confidential. MedTech Engine asks that you do not to share your password with anyone.

Data use

The data MedTech Engine collects will be used to:

  • recommend content, services and offers that may be of interest to you, where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes.
  • improve the MedTech Engine website’s content and appearance, to ensure that its content/services are presented in the most effective manner for you.
  • MedTech Engine may also ask you to complete surveys that MedTech Engine uses for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them.
  • MedTech Engine may also disclose your information to our parent company, medeuronet.

Where you have consented, MedTech Engine may also pass your information onto other carefully selected third parties, who may inform you about their products and services that may be of interest. Data Sharing

MedTech Engine does not sell or otherwise disclose Personal Information about you, except as described in this Policy or as you explicitly consent to. MedTech Engine may share your information as described in this Privacy Policy:

Vendors and Service Providers – MedTech Engine may share Personal Information with vendors and service providers only as necessary to provide the Services to us. The types of service providers (processors) to whom MedTech Engine entrust Personal Information include service providers for: (i) provision of IT and related services; (ii) provision of information and services you have requested; (iii) payment processing; (iv) customer service activities; and (v) in connection with the provision of the Site. MedTech Engine has executed appropriate contracts with the service providers that prohibit them from using or sharing Personal Information except as necessary to perform the contracted services on our behalf or to comply with applicable legal requirements.

Business Partners – MedTech Engine may share Personal Information with business partners, and affiliates for our and our affiliates’ internal business purposes or to provide you with a product or service that you have requested. MedTech Engine may also provide Personal Information to business partners with whom MedTech Engine may jointly offer products or services, or whose products or services MedTech Engine believe may be of interest to you. In such cases, business partner’s name will appear, along with MedTech Engine. MedTech Engine requires affiliates and business partners to agree in writing to maintain the confidentiality and security of Personal Information they maintain on our behalf and not to use it for any purpose other than the purpose for which MedTech Engine provided them.

Data Transfers

MedTech Engine may store all Personal Information collected anywhere in the world, including but not limited to, in Europe, in the cloud, on our servers, or the servers of our service providers.

Data Retention

MedTech Engine will retain your information for as long as needed to provide you services. MedTech Engine will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Your rights

You may inquire as to whether MedTech Engine is processing Personal Information about you, request access to Personal Information, and ask that MedTech Engine correct, amend or delete your Personal Information where it is inaccurate by e-mailing Please include your full name, email address associated with your Account and a detailed description of your data request. MedTech Engine will respond to any requests for access to personal information within 30 days

If you no longer wish to receive emails from MedTech Engine, every email MedTech Engine sends contains a simple, automated way for you to request to opt-out. If you wish to opt out, simply follow the instructions at the end of any email. You may continue to receive mailings that are already on route to you for a short period of time while your request is being processed.

The treatment of personal data made from the internet site has been declared to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Detect by MedTech Engine profiles

Detect by MedTech Engine allows users to create company profiles or to submit additional data to existing profiles for publishing. Such information is usually reviewed by an editor before being made publically available on the platform. MedTech Engine reserves the right to exclude or otherwise edit any information submitted to the MedTech Engine website. MedTech Engine also reserves the right to complete a profile or attach additional information to it, provided by a news feed, API or partner (e.g. latest Twitter/Facebook/LinkedIn posts; news feed; etc). This additional information may be attached automatically to profiles. While MedTech Engine maintains every best effort to ensure matching the right feed to each profile, it cannot be guaranteed that any attached information is linked to the right profile. MedTech Engine shall not be held liable for any problems that arise in this case, but will remove incorrect attachments within 10 working days of notification. By using any of MedTech Engine services you agree that some automatically-generated emails (e.g. activation confirmations) will be sent to you automatically. Security Policy

The security of MedTech Engine website is of the utmost importance to us. Our site uses software to provide high-level SSL encryption technology.

There are two simple ways to check if a page on MedTech Engine website is secure; firstly, a small padlock sign will appear in the bottom bar of your browser and secondly, the ‘http’ will be replaced with ‘https’ at the front of in the browser address window. Although MedTech Engine uses advanced security measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and alteration, as with all computer networks linked to the internet, MedTech Engine cannot make absolute guarantees about the security of the information you provide over the internet and so MedTech Engine cannot be held responsible for it.

Please note that email correspondence is free format text and cannot be encrypted, therefore it is not a secure means of communication. Never send any sensitive information, such as passwords or credit card information, via email. Where MedTech Engine has given you (or where you have chosen) a password that enables you to access certain parts of MedTech Engine website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. MedTech Engine uses traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used and to manage user sessions.
